AAA House Clearance are committed to helping the environment. Symbolic of this, is our registration with the Environment Agency (Registration number CB/ME5398UP).
We have researched the most effective ways of recycling and re-using and have established excellent links with organisations across the South East who help us in our endeavour.
Environment Agency registration entitles our access to waste transfer sites. Unregistered clearance companies are unable to deal with waste in an environmental responsible way. This will lead to road-side dumping, or burning of materials that cause harm to the environment
When carrying out a clearance, large quantities of certain materials, can be taken to reprocessing units, or to designated areas at waste transfer sites where they can be recycled. Such materials include:
:
- Paper and cardboard
- Textiles
- Ceramics
- Some wood
- Glass
Organising the contents of a house may take a little time, but whenever this is possible, it is a worthwhile process as it reduces landfill. It is also friendlier to the environment to recycle rather than produce anew.
Some items may be suitable for re-use in the following ways:
- Clothes can be sold or re-used by charities. We will box clothes and deliver them.
- Ornaments, glassware, and some crockery and books are passed on to sanctuaries for re-sale at fund-raising events.
- Blankets, bedding and towels are all appreciated by the dogs and wild animals at our animal sanctuary.
What can not be re-used or recycled, must be dealt with as waste at commercial disposal facilities.
